The 'great' Jaime Lannister... Kingslayer... Oathbreaker... Brought to his knees by the men of the North.
— Norren.

Norren was a bannerman of House Forrester who disappeared during the events of the Red Wedding at The Twins. Bowen was his squire.

Personality[]

Norren was boisterous and loud, though protective and noble; this was proven when he bought Lord Gregor Forrester and Gared Tuttle time to escape while holding off the Frey soldiers. Though his squire, Bowen doesn't really seem to notice his good traits, especially since Norren seems to order him around. Norren actually cares about Bowen, as he will be disappointed if Bowen was left to die.

Killed Victims[]

  • Numerous Frey Soldiers

History[]

Norren was a faithful bannerman of House Forrester, to whom his family had been loyal to for generations. He had a squire named Bowen who was seemingly a friend of Gared Tuttle, the squire to Lord Gregor Forrester, and resented Norren always ordering him around to do menial tasks. Norren took part in the Battle of the Whispering Wood against the forces of House Lannister, but was too drunk during the battle according to Bowen.

Game of Thrones[]

"Iron From Ice"[]

Norren is first seen talking with fellow soldiers of House Forrester, claiming that he took part in capturing the Kingslayer, Jaime Lannister. The others however mock him, refusing to believe his outlandish tale, while Thermund snorts that he held his ankle and was dragged for a great distance by Jaime, before ten other soldiers took the Kingslayer down.

Lord Gregor Forrester soon arrives and takes part in mocking Norren's claim while pouring wine for everyone around him. After the pitcher of wine becomes empty, Norren orders Bowen to fetch more wine for the Forrester soldiers.

If Bowen is left behind during the Red Wedding and killed, Norren will ask where his squire is and will be disappointed if Gared confesses the truth. After Lord Forrester is wounded by an arrow, Norren tells him to flee while he holds back the Frey soldiers. Since Bowen, if saved, is the only one who survives the Red Wedding, it's possible that Norren is either dead, captured, or escaped. Either way, what happens to him is unknown.

Trivia[]

  • Norren is one of the characters voiced by Geoff Leesley, the other being Ludd Whitehill.
  • It is possible that Norren was Lord Gregor's Sentinel.
