The Skirmish at the Tuttle Farm is an event that leads to the beginning of the Forrester-Whitehill conflict, during which Gared Tuttle returns home to his family farm following the Red Wedding, only to encounter House Bolton and House Whitehill soldiers. A fight breaks out and Gared slays at least one of the soldiers, whose leader Britt Warrick informs Lord Ludd Whitehill of the event.

Prelude[]

Following the Red Wedding and the massacre of the northern army, Gared Tuttle managed to escape the carnage with the Forrester Greatsword, on the way to his home, a small pig farm in Forrester land, he discovers dead pigs and overturned karts, until he hears nearby voices, he follows the voices and discovers three soldiers, two Whitehills and a Bolton, who have raided his home and fatally wounded his father, Gared can then either draw his greatsword or attempt to reach his father.

The Skirmish[]

Gared tries wielding the Forrester Greatsword against his attackers, but the blade is too heavy for him to be used efficiently and he's quickly disarmed by their leader, Britt. Adapting quickly, he manages to grab another weapon, either a one-handed axe or a pitchfork, which he uses to slay the Bolton soldier, enraged, Britt approaches Gared while holding the Forrester Greatsword, but Gared tackles Britt, who loses the blade, but while Gared attempts to grab the sword, Britt stabs him in the leg with a dagger, the two men struggle over the blade, but Gared overpowers him and kicks him to the ground, the second Whitehill man charges at Gared with his spear, but Gared quickly grabs the Forrester sword and uses it to deflect the coming attack and push the Whitehill to the ground, the Whitehill soldier begs for mercy, and Gared can choose to spare him or kill him.

Britt, mounting his horse, vengefully threatens Gared with Lord Ludd Whitehill's retribution, vowing to have him hanged once the news reaches Lord Whitehill.

Aftermath[]

Gared, severely weakened by his wound and exhausted from the long journey on foot, reaches Ironrath, but collapses as soon as he enters the keep, he is tended to by Ironrath's maester, Ortengryn, but his stay in Ironrath is short lived, his uncle, Duncan Tuttle, the Castellan of Ironrath, informs Gared that Ramsay Snow, son of Roose Bolton, and Lord Ludd Whitehill, will arrive at Ironrath in the coming days, demanding Gared's death as retribution, to prevent that, he is sent to the Wall for his safety.
